Shelby
is another of the "car" litter, named after an early
model of Mustang. She is smooth, steady and powerful
like her namesake. Shelby is another of Tucker's
offspring who has inherited his leader abilities. She is
hard-driving and confident in lead, handling that position
even on our fastest runs. She maintains her desire to
please, even through the excitement of running in harness.
Shelby
was bred in ’05 to Northomes Max; she produced nine puppies
who will be making their racing debuts this coming winter on
the teams of Tumnatki, Carmacks (Mike and Kathy Carmichael)
and Blue Peaks Powerpaws (Frank & Cherie Engelhardt).
Shelby
was one of the dogs who experienced an inflammatory reaction
to something in our environment during the first couple of
years in our new home. She lost an eye to a severe, acute
uveitis; pathology, although not determining the etiology, did
rule out a heredity cause. Followup eye exam shows the other
eye to remain normal and no further health changes a year
later. “Eye” CERF’d clear 4/06.
