Gibson
is one of the “Handsome Boys” litter. He developed an
inflammatory condition in the eyes at just under a year,
causing atypical bilateral cataracts and one detached retina.
(My ophthalmologist said, “Cataracts don’t cause a
detached retina, but inflammation can cause both.”) 1 ½
years later, the vision in his good eye is stable and adequate
for a happy life; he simply pays a little more attention to
the lay of the land as he runs and plays in the kennel. Gibson
is a sweet, easygoing young dog. Because I want less intense
demands for him, he is available to a companion or
recreational mushing home.
